MEETING NOTES

Approximately 50 attended this meeting.

In general the community was impressed with the follow-up with golf course officials and the fact he was present to answer questions. The officials from the gold course stated that they would be removing some of the fencing around the golf course adjacent to the park. When and what type of fencing will be put up depends on what kind of problems come up with people entering the golf course during business hours in the golfing season. There is always the concern of people getting hit by golf balls if they enter the golf course during the golfing hours.

Community appeared to appreciate the 3 drawn options. After a presentation describing the three options five small groups were formed to discuss the three options. After the small group had time to discuss amongst themselves each group reported back to the entire room on their opinions of each of the three options. The following came out of the small group reports:

1. The basketball court would stay where it was with a berm and trees, etc. separating it from the kids play area.
2. The volleyball court should be sand at the beach.
3. 10 + kid's play area was not needed.
4. Skate rink year round was not needed.
5. Athletic fields will be used as winter ice rinks.
6. Like the 4 season verandah - would like to be able to use as a warming room for ice skating.
7. Would like to maintain # of Athletic fields and add soccer field(s) if possible.
8. Need to keep 3-4 tennis courts as Roosevelt High students use them frequently.
9. Would like formal plantings but no arch/structure near entries to park.
10. Would like either formal, low plantings or berms on 28th with trees.
11. Would like informal plantings near creek and lake.
